Junior Business Development Executive

About the role

The Junior Business Development Executive will support a global digital‑marketing leader in Johannesburg by identifying new revenue opportunities, researching market trends and assisting the sales team to win new clients. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience in business development, client pitching and strategic planning.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑depth research on industry digital‑communication trends, competitor offerings and client technology usage.
• Prepare and deliver research presentations to senior executives.
• Collaborate with the National Business Development Director to shape market entry strategies and quarterly business development plans.
• Generate leads through cold calling, referrals, tenders and networking at industry events.
• Create client‑specific PowerPoint presentations, write proposals, scopes of work and SLA agreements.
• Track opportunities in the revenue and opportunity tracker and update pipeline stages weekly.
• Participate in weekly Business Development team meetings and handover briefings with relevant departments.

Required profile

• Recent graduate or 0‑2 years of experience in sales, marketing or related fields.
• Strong analytical mindset with a passion for technology innovation.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable speaking to senior leadership.
• Proactive, self‑motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint for creating client presentations.
