About the role
The role involves responding to site‑based emergency calls and delivering medical care in line with the scope of practice. Candidates must successfully complete a physical fitness and medical assessment before appointment.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure operational readiness for emergency calls.
- Administer patient care according to the defined scope of practice.
- Provide professional emergency services to site‑based clients.
Required profile
- Basic Ambulance Assistant Certificate (essential).
- 6 months to 1 year road BLS experience (essential).
- 2 years road BLS experience (desired).
Required skills
- Knowledge of facilities, travel routes and the demographical area.
- Understanding of HPCSA guidelines and scope of practice.
- Application of best practice in an EMS environment.
- Proficiency in written and verbal English.
- Ability to complete Patient Report Forms accurately.
