About the role
The Hotel Receptionist will be the first point of contact for guests at a busy, well‑established 4‑5 star property in Cape Town. You will deliver polished, efficient service throughout the guest journey, handling check‑ins, check‑outs and enquiries in a fast‑paced environment.
Key responsibilities
- Welcome guests professionally and create a positive first impression.
- Manage guest check‑ins and check‑outs accurately and efficiently.
- Handle guest queries, requests and complaints with a courteous, solution‑focused approach.
- Process payments, maintain billing details and perform daily front‑office administration.
- Assist with reservations, amendments and room allocations, ensuring accurate guest information.
- Coordinate with Housekeeping and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Uphold front‑office presentation standards and follow hotel procedures.
Required profile
- Matric or equivalent qualification; hotel school qualification preferred.
- Minimum 2 years experience as a hotel receptionist in a busy 4‑ or 5‑star hotel.
- Strong guest service and communication skills with a professional appearance.
- Ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
- Excellent administrative and multitasking abilities.
Required skills
- Proficiency with hotel property management systems, preferably OPERA PMS.
