About the role
The Capital Hotels is seeking an Assistant F&B Manager to support the day‑to‑day food and beverage operations across its restaurant, room service, conferencing and function areas. Reporting to the F&B Manager, you will act as the second‑in‑command and step in as lead when required.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily operations for restaurant, room service, conferences and functions.
- Oversee front‑of‑house activities, ensuring service standards align with the Capital Hotel Group’s brand.
- Manage administrative tasks related to F&B operations, including scheduling and inventory control.
- Lead a team of 45+ staff, handling recruitment, training and performance management.
- Maintain strong food and wine knowledge to support menu development and guest experience.
Required profile
- Matric qualification and a Hospitality Management qualification.
- 2–3 years experience in an Assistant Food & Beverage Management role.
- Previous restaurant management experience is beneficial.
- Proven ability to manage large teams and remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication, active listening and customer‑service orientation.
- Professional appearance, honesty, attention to detail and leadership mindset.
