Head of Sub-Saharan Africa Business and External Affairs

About the role

Biovac, a leading sterile vaccine manufacturer in Africa, is seeking a dynamic Head of Sub-Saharan Africa Business and External Affairs. You will lead sales growth, shape market strategy, and manage external relationships across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Drive sales initiatives and strengthen market position across Sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Collaborate with the Africa Market Shaping Head and Exports Head to leverage the Biovac pipeline.
• Manage relationships with key local and international customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
• Oversee tender submissions, procurement of vaccines, and supply‑risk mitigation.
• Analyse market trends, develop commercial strategies, and support brand‑plan proposals.
• Lead internal pricing processes and coordinate warehousing and distribution partners.
• Respond to S21 opportunities and ensure alignment with quality and regulatory teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (required); MBA or postgraduate qualification in Business, Public Health, Pharma or Economics (preferred).
• Minimum 8 years experience in a pharmaceutical commercial environment.
• At least 3 years in senior management roles.
• Experience with quality and regulatory compliance in a cGMP facility.
• Proven track record in business and operational planning using ERP systems.
• Budget development and monitoring, program and project management experience.
