Head of Internal Audit

About the role

Revolut is seeking a Head of Internal Audit to lead the design and execution of its internal audit function in South Africa. You will be responsible for shaping audit policies, mitigating business risk, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while supporting the company’s mission to give customers more control over their money.

Key responsibilities

• Design the annual internal audit plan, aligning with regulatory requirements and operational risks in South Africa.
• Develop and execute audit programmes in line with internal policies, methodologies, and regulatory standards.
• Participate in local committees and maintain the internal audit risk assessment process, collaborating closely with the Global Head of Internal Audit.
• Leverage data analytics to enhance risk understanding, test controls, and provide actionable insights.
• Identify relevant regulatory requirements and incorporate them into audit scopes and work programmes.
• Engage with senior management to understand risks, controls, and processes, and report findings with root‑cause analysis and recommendations.
• Collaborate with global teams to optimise business processes, internal controls, and compliance measures.
• Support external auditors during financial statement audits as needed.
• Monitor audit progress, manage timelines and scope, and escalate issues when required.

Required profile

• 7+ years of professional experience in audit or related roles within a regulated financial services environment.
• Broad exposure to banking, securities trading, payments, operations, risk, finance, or treasury processes.
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance requirements.
