Group Financial Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Group Financial Manager to lead finance and accounting across a diversified group of companies operating in engineering manufacturing, LPG and fuel distribution, and property management. The role is hands‑on, requiring you to ensure accurate, timely reporting and to act as the primary point of contact for any financial discrepancies or risks.

Key responsibilities

• Full responsibility for finance and accounting functions across all entities.
• Management accounts preparation and financial reporting.
• Cash flow management, forecasting and budgeting.
• Oversight of general ledger, balance sheet and reconciliations.
• VAT, payroll, tax and statutory compliance.
• Audit preparation and liaison with auditors.
• Management of debtors, creditors and financial controls.
• Multi‑company reporting and consolidation.
• Oversight of property, fuel and engineering‑related financial reporting.
• Leadership, development and accountability of the finance team.
• Continuous improvement of financial systems, controls and procedures.

Required profile

• BCom Accounting, BCompt or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 8 years of accounting experience.
• At least 3 years managing finance staff.
• Strong experience in general ledger, balance sheet and management accounting.
• Proven experience managing multiple entities.
• Current SAIPA Professional Accountant (SA), AGA(SA) or equivalent recognised professional accounting designation (non‑negotiable).
