Group Financial Controller

About the role

The Group Financial Controller will act as the finance number two for a global learning technology business. This senior position oversees group‑level financial control, consolidation, month‑end close, audit and reporting across multiple regions, entities and currencies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage group‑wide financial control and ensure compliance across all entities.
• Lead the global finance team in reporting, controls and month‑end delivery.
• Own the group consolidation process and produce accurate, timely financial statements.
• Oversee month‑end close activities, including balance‑sheet control, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals and pre‑payments.
• Strengthen the control framework and improve finance processes.
• Support group audits, statutory reporting and technical accounting quality.
• Collaborate with regional finance leads and senior stakeholders on cash flow, working capital and reporting discipline.
• Prepare the finance function for future system and process transformation.

Required profile

• CA(SA), ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent senior accounting qualification.
• Approximately 15 years of progressive finance experience, including strong group consolidation exposure.
• Proven experience leading finance teams in multi‑entity, multi‑currency, international environments.
• Deep technical accounting knowledge and familiarity with UK GAAP or similar frameworks.
• Clear, confident communication with senior stakeholders and strong judgement.
