FinOps Graduate Programme – Personal & Private Banking

About the role

Join the FinOps capability within PPB Technology South Africa and support business units across the Standard Bank Group. This graduate programme offers hands‑on experience in financial accountability, cost transparency and value optimisation for technology and cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Apply FinOps principles to drive cost transparency, optimisation and value management across technology platforms.
• Analyse cloud and technology usage data to identify trends, variances and optimisation opportunities.
• Prepare reports, dashboards and insights that enable data‑driven financial and operational decisions.
• Collaborate with engineering, finance, product and business teams to improve awareness and accountability of technology consumption.
• Support usage and rate optimisation activities across public cloud, data platforms, GenAI initiatives and on‑premises environments.
• Use Power BI and cloud‑native services to visualise and interpret cost and usage data.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of FinOps processes, controls and automation, including GenAI use cases.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate qualification (or completing by 2026) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, AI/GenAI, Business or Commerce with a strong quantitative focus.
• South African citizenship, under 30 years of age, and no more than two years of work experience.
• Minimum overall academic average of 65%.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving ability and curiosity to learn new concepts and tools.
• Good attention to detail, resilience and adaptability in a fast‑changing environment.
