About the role
We are looking for a motivated Food & Beverage Service Expert to join the team at The Cape Town EDITION Hotel. In this role you will create memorable dining experiences for guests by delivering attentive, high‑quality service throughout their meal.
Key responsibilities
- Set up and stock dining areas, ensuring tables are properly arranged and all serviceware is clean and presentable.
- Communicate orders to the kitchen, serve food and beverages, and attend to guest requests promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness of work stations, follow “clean‑as‑you‑go” procedures, and perform end‑of‑shift duties such as storing reusable items, breaking down equipment, restocking supplies, and completing the daily cleaning checklist.
- Inspect china, glassware and silverware for quality before use.
- Adhere to all safety, security and company policies, report any incidents, and complete required safety training.
- Present a professional uniform and appearance, greet guests according to brand standards, and use clear, courteous language on the phone and in person.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve service goals and uphold quality standards.
Required profile
- Ability to stand, walk and move on uneven or slippery surfaces for extended periods.
- Physical capacity to lift and carry objects up to 25 lb unaided and up to 50 lb with assistance.
- Read and verify menu information accurately.
- Commitment to a safe workplace, confidentiality of proprietary information and protection of company assets.
