Flexo Printing Technician – Spartan

About the role

The company is seeking two experienced Flexographic (Flexo) Printing Technicians to lead process development, optimisation and capability building in a high‑volume serviette manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will ensure consistent quality, stable processes and waste reduction.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, document and maintain operating centrelines for Flexo printing and converting processes.
• Optimise print parameters for colour registration, ink performance and efficiency.
• Monitor process capability, identify improvement opportunities and drive continuous improvement.
• Provide technical support on inks, plates, anilox rollers, substrates and drying systems.
• Lead complex machine setups, change‑overs and troubleshooting of print defects.
• Conduct structured root‑cause analysis for recurring quality or downtime issues.
• Develop, review and maintain SOPs, work instructions and technical standards.
• Support internal and external audits with proper documentation.
• Train and coach operators and technicians, assess competency and ensure compliance with safety and quality requirements.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance and technical teams to resolve cross‑functional issues.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
• Trade qualification in Printing, Graphic Arts, Flexographic Printing or Industrial Printing.
• Proven experience in Flexographic printing within a high‑volume environment.
• Previous experience as a Process Technician or Senior Printer.
