Financial Manager

About the role

Sanlam GoTyme is a strategic partnership delivering integrated financial services in South Africa. The Financial Manager will lead statutory and management reporting, budgeting, tax compliance and stakeholder liaison to ensure accurate financial information and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare statutory financial statements, manage external audit, and handle dividends, equity covenants, liquidity and solvency tests.
• Produce monthly management and quarterly board reports, funding and cash‑flow projections, and quarterly GEV and VNB valuations.
• Oversee month‑end processes, journal approvals, reconciliations, and the preparation of standalone and consolidated management accounts.
• Review VAT, provisional tax, income tax returns and manage SARS audit queries with Group Tax Services.
• Administer SAP and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) systems, audit supplier invoices, and maintain stakeholder relationships.

Required profile

• Minimum 3‑5 years post‑qualification experience, preferably in financial services.
• CA (SA) qualification is preferred.
• Dynamic, self‑starter with high attention to detail and strong interpersonal communication.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment and manage multiple stakeholders under pressure.

Required skills

• IFRS9 knowledge and application.
• Proficiency with SAP and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM).
• Technical accounting support, budgeting and forecasting.
• Financial reporting and tax compliance.
