About the role
The X1 Financial Management Internship Programme is offered by Amahlathi Local Municipality within its Budget & Treasury department. This internship provides a paid placement of R78,000 per year for candidates who wish to develop a foundation in public‑sector financial management. Interns will be based at the municipality’s offices in Stutterheim, Eastern Cape, and will be introduced to the core functions of budgeting and treasury operations in a local government setting. The programme is targeted at individuals who have completed or are completing a National Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Financial Management, Management Accounting or Financial Information Systems. It aims to give participants practical insight into financial reporting, budget preparation and the management of municipal funds.
