Expert Artisan Technical Trainer

About the role

The Expert Artisan Technical Trainer will facilitate, assess and moderate apprentices, learners and artisans in the Fitter and Turner trades, ensuring compliance with industry standards and promoting a safe training environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with MerSETA, NAMB, QCTO, ISO 14001, BBBEE and SABS standards.
• Facilitate, assess and moderate apprentices, learners and artisans across all phases of the Fitter and Turner trade.
• Conduct pre‑trade tests, assessments and trade tests for the Fitter and Turner trade.
• Deliver training in pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Develop and continuously update curriculum modules for the Fitter & Turner trade.
• Plan, schedule and record training sessions ensuring adherence to national auditing systems.
• Promote a safe training environment and support rotational assignments across departments.

Required profile

• N4 qualification and trade‑tested Fitter and Turner Artisan.
• Minimum five years post‑apprenticeship experience as an artisan.
• Experience training apprentices and artisans through levels 1‑4 up to the trade test.
• Assessor and facilitator certificates are advantageous.
• Strong computer literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience in manufacturing, steel, aluminium, paper‑pulp or packaging industries is a plus.
