About the role

A prominent financial services group is seeking an Executive Financial Planner to join their team in Msunduzi, Pietermaritzburg. The role focuses on delivering tailored financial and estate planning advice to a diverse client base across Private and Business Banking segments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement sophisticated financial and estate plans for a range of clients, from high‑net‑worth individuals to commercial entities.
• Conduct thorough financial analyses to assess client needs, risks, and opportunities.
• Provide expert advice on various financial products and services, ensuring compliance with FAIS requirements.
• Build and nurture strong, long‑term relationships with clients as a trusted advisor.
• Stay abreast of market trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes affecting financial planning.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
• Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring their financial objectives are met and estates are appropriately planned.

Required profile

• A relevant tertiary qualification, such as a Diploma in Banking or a First Degree in Business/Commerce.
• 5‑7 years of experience in client coverage within consumer and high‑net‑worth segments.
• Proven experience across all product categories mandated by FAIS for SBFC, including Business Assurance.
• Strong financial acumen and ability to perform in‑depth financial analysis.
• Understanding of the financial industry’s regulatory framework and legal compliance.
• Proficiency in interpreting financial statements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
