Electrical Construction Supervisor – 14‑Month Contract

About the role

The Electrical Construction Supervisor will lead all electrical and overhead line (OHL) activities on a 14‑month contract at the Postmasburg site. You will ensure compliance with Anglo American SHE standards, legislation and project controls while maintaining a safe, disciplined work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Verify that all electrical and OHL work follows approved method statements, lift plans, permits and isolation procedures.
• Lead pre‑starts, VFLs, risk assessments and critical‑control checks for working at height, lifting, stringing, earthing and energisation.
• Review and approve work packs, route drawings, tower/pole schedules, sag‑tension data and inspection plans.
• Monitor contractor performance, scope changes and field variations to prevent unauthorised work and re‑work.
• Support mobilisation, induction and readiness verification of specialist OHL contractors.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising electrical and OHL construction on large‑scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of South African electrical legislation, SHE requirements and Group Technical Standards.
• Ability to interpret complex drawings, schedules and technical specifications.
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with civil, substations, telecom, rail and third‑party services.
