Distribution Planner / Junior Consultant

About the role

The Distribution Planner / Junior Consultant will use market‑leading planning and route‑adherence software to design, monitor and optimise distribution routes. The role supports the Operations Strategic Business Unit by maintaining key performance indicators, producing regular reports and contributing to strategic optimisation projects such as fleet mix and network modelling.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and maintain routing systems daily, incorporating new customers and non‑delivery days.
• Generate daily route reports and forward them to the consultant and contract manager.
• Produce monthly KPI scorecards and present them in customer workshops.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and liaise with consultants and contract managers.
• Review and monitor fleet KPIs and vehicle reporting on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
• Provide ad‑hoc consulting support for strategic optimisation initiatives.

Required profile

• Result‑driven with strong problem‑solving abilities and a sense of urgency.
• Confident, outgoing communicator able to build rapport with clients, drivers and internal teams.
• Independent worker who can handle challenges while committing to business success.
• Entry‑level candidate with either 3 years distribution experience or a degree in Engineering or Logistics.

Required skills

• Supply chain knowledge (studied or practical experience).
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Data analysis and manipulation capabilities.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and related planning software.
