About the role
The Department of Home Affairs is seeking a Deputy Director to lead the management of Permanent Residence Permit appeals. This senior role involves overseeing the review process, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the processing of Permanent Residence Permit (PRP) appeals, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and legality of applications.
- Review initial decisions, supporting documents, and case files to determine whether decisions should be upheld or modified.
- Monitor deadlines and guarantee that decisions are issued within prescribed timelines.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all relevant stakeholders in the PRP appeals process.
- Implement risk and compliance controls in line with legislative prescripts.
- Oversee the efficient use of human, physical, and financial resources within the unit.
- Coach and guide staff on best practices and regulatory compliance.
