Dental Risk Manager (Health Professional Unit)

About the role

The Dental Risk Manager will lead the identification, assessment and mitigation of clinical, operational and regulatory risks associated with dental services within Discovery’s Health Professional Unit. Reporting to the VBC team, you will ensure compliance with legislation, professional standards and internal policies while fostering a culture of patient safety.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate risks across dental care pathways and develop mitigation strategies.
• Lead incident management, conduct root‑cause analyses and implement corrective action plans.
• Monitor compliance with healthcare legislation, professional standards and Discovery policies.
• Produce risk reports, dashboards and provide training to dental teams.
• Collaborate with quality, governance and analytical teams to drive value‑based care initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience in health funding, corporate health care or product modelling and design.
• 3–5 years experience in the health‑care industry and 3–4 years of clinical training experience.
• Medical degree or a degree in analytics.
• Strong analytical and financial modelling capabilities.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and uphold high ethical standards.
