Customer Service Operations Manager

About the role

We are seeking a senior Customer Service Operations Manager to lead the end‑to‑end warehouse and customer care functions for a well‑established distribution business in Jetpark, Johannesburg. The role combines operational oversight of receiving, storage and dispatch with a strong focus on delivering excellent customer experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Manage receiving, warehousing and distribution operations while enforcing policies and procedures.
• Set and achieve distribution targets such as accuracy and OTIF, control resources and adhere to the approved budget.
• Maintain strict inventory control through cycle counts, stock takes and data reconciliation.
• Oversee daily route planning and continuously improve delivery schedules.
• Drive cost‑reduction initiatives without compromising productivity or quality.
• Lead the customer care function, own issue resolution and build loyal customer relationships.
• Develop service procedures, standards and accurate reporting mechanisms.
• Train, motivate and manage team performance.
• Ensure health & safety, security and planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment.

Required profile

• Matriculation plus a degree or diploma in Logistics, Warehouse or Supply Chain Management.
• At least 10 years of experience in warehousing and distribution, with 5 years in middle or senior management.
• Experience in FMCG or distribution environments preferred.
• Proficiency with Syspro or a comparable ERP system.
• Valid driver’s licence and knowledge of environmental, health and safety regulations.
• Strong client‑facing, communication, planning and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Syspro ERP (or similar warehouse management system).
