Construction Project Manager – Interior Design, Cape Town

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead the planning, coordination and delivery of interior fit‑out projects for an interior design firm in Cape Town. The role carries full responsibility for quality, cost control and on‑site performance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and direct construction projects from initiation through to completion.
• Ensure project requirements, specifications and timelines are achieved.
• Monitor project costs in conjunction with quantity surveyors.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, site staff and construction teams.
• Oversee Health, Safety and Environmental compliance on site.
• Review and manage project programmes, site progress, drawings and technical documentation.
• Implement and maintain quality assurance and control processes.
• Identify potential issues proactively and implement effective solutions.
• Evaluate, manage and reduce project risks.
• Maintain accurate project records, including site instructions, delay notifications, RFIs and progress reports.
• Assist with sourcing quotations, negotiating subcontractor agreements and reviewing contractor claims.
• Manage project close‑out activities such as defect resolution, final accounts and as‑built documentation.

Required profile

• 3–5 years’ experience in construction project management, preferably in interior office fit‑outs.
• Proven ability to manage project costs and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental regulations.
• Experience in project close‑out, defect resolution and final documentation.

Required skills

• Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Experience using MS Project.
• Valid driver’s licence.
