Community Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic Community Specialist to build, grow and manage XM’s online communities in South Africa. The role will serve as the main point of contact for users, fostering engagement, brand loyalty and a thriving digital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement community engagement strategies to increase participation and drive growth.
• Monitor social media conversations and social‑listening channels to gather insights and provide feedback.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to execute campaigns, promotions and events.
• Generate reports analysing engagement and brand responsiveness metrics.
• Build, grow and manage online communities across relevant social platforms.
• Respond to client inquiries, complaints and feedback promptly and professionally.
• Identify and engage brand advocates to amplify reach.
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies and new social platforms.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar community or social media role.
• Strong understanding of social media platforms.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical abilities.
• Creative thinker with a passion for community building.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal English.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
