Chief Financial Officer – Property Development (East London)

About the role

We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial strategy and operations of our property development business in East London. The role will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, funding, compliance and long‑term financial planning.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy, aligning it with property development objectives.
• Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Manage funding relationships with banks, lenders and investors, ensuring compliance with South African regulations and tax requirements.
• Lead long‑term financial planning, risk management and strategic decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field (essential).
• Minimum 5 years of senior financial management experience, preferably in property development, manufacturing or retail.
• Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and compliance.
• Strong cash‑flow management and financial planning capabilities.
• Experience with property finance, project accounting or development funding (advantageous).
• Demonstrated ability to manage banking and lender relationships.
• Knowledge of South African financial regulations and tax; CA(SA) or equivalent qualification (advantageous).
• Excellent financial modelling, analytical and commercial skills with a track record of leadership.
