Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – Energy Business

About the role

Network Finance is seeking an experienced Chief Executive Officer to lead the next phase of growth for a high‑potential energy business. The role demands a commercially astute leader who can shape strategy, build a world‑class executive team and position the company as an investment‑ready organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a long‑term growth strategy for the energy business.
• Build, lead and inspire a world‑class executive leadership team.
• Establish a scalable, investable operation with strong governance and operational excellence.
• Identify and drive new business opportunities, strategic partnerships and market expansion initiatives.
• Maintain relationships with investors, financial institutions, regulators and key industry stakeholders.
• Lead fundraising initiatives and secure financing to support growth.
• Navigate South African and broader African regulatory landscapes.
• Drive financial performance, operational excellence and sustainable profitability.
• Represent the business at board level and across the energy industry.

Required profile

• CA(SA) qualification (essential).
• Minimum 15 years of executive leadership experience, preferably in energy, oil, gas or petroleum.
• Proven track record of building, scaling or transforming an energy business.
• Experience executing growth strategies and delivering commercial results.
• Strong understanding of South African and African energy markets.
• Established network within the energy, regulatory and financing ecosystem.
• Experience engaging with investors, lenders, regulators and government stakeholders.
• Exceptional strategic, commercial and leadership capabilities.
