Buyer – Procurement & Spare Parts Specialist

About the role

The Buyer is responsible for purchasing materials, supplies and equipment for the business. This includes negotiating deals with suppliers, researching product options and maintaining inventory levels to support operations.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve repair and maintenance cost targets by securing competitive pricing in line with Central Procurement procedures.
• Ensure timely delivery and availability of spares to minimise downtime.
• Drive quarterly supplier meetings and SLA discussions with key vendors.
• Prepare weekly and monthly departmental expenditure reports.
• Create emergency breakdown purchase orders within 48 hours.
• Obtain a minimum of three quotations for consumables to secure competitive pricing.
• Reduce spares holding by 5% through supplier‑onsite consignment arrangements.
• Source and purchase technical spares and consumables at the lowest possible cost.
