Business Performance Leader - Talent Pool

About the role

The Business Performance Leader (BPL) drives profitable growth and a strong performance culture by combining financial leadership, operational oversight, and business analysis. The role delivers accurate reporting, forecasting and insights while partnering with department leaders to achieve KPIs and support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Review and interpret financial performance, focusing on the profit & loss statement and key drivers.
• Lead budgeting, rolling forecasts and scenario modelling for the store network.
• Monitor and control OPEX and CAPEX, approve purchase orders and ensure budget adherence.
• Conduct variance, trend and gap analysis to highlight risks, opportunities and performance issues.
• Partner with heads of department to analyse financial performance, KPIs and profitability drivers, and coach managers on financial acumen.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field (essential).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial management, business performance or accounting, preferably in retail or FMCG.
• Professional certification such as CIMA, ACCA or SAICA is advantageous.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel and financial modelling.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems and reporting tools.
• Strong analytical and data‑driven insight generation.
