Business Analyst (Data & AI)

About the role

The client is a leading, fast‑growing AI and machine‑learning division seeking a Business Analyst to bridge business stakeholders with data scientists and engineers. This remote role focuses on gathering requirements, creating documentation, and supporting AI‑driven initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, Data Scientists, and Data Engineers to ensure technical builds align with strategic business goals.
• Lead the gathering and validation of complex requirements for data‑driven applications, analytics dashboards, and AI/ML model deployment.
• Produce high‑quality documentation including functional and non‑functional specifications, User Stories, and Source‑to‑Target Mappings (STTM).
• Create detailed wireframes and mockups to visualise data interfaces and reporting tools, facilitating early stakeholder feedback and alignment.
• Utilise analytical capabilities to interpret data trends, assess data quality, and define KPIs that quantify the success of AI initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to optimise data workflows and integration points across the organisation.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification such as Computer Science, Data Analytics, or Business Information Systems.
• Proven background in Data Analytics, Machine Learning, and AI (nice to have but not essential).
• Understanding of the full data project lifecycle from ingestion to visualisation.
• Proficiency in requirements‑elicitation techniques and ability to produce comprehensive documentation.
• Experience with wireframing and mockup tools (e.g., Figma, Balsamiq, Miro).
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex data‑lake or AI concepts to non‑technical executives.
