Automotive Financial Controller / Administrator

About the role

Our client, a franchised motor dealership in Johannesburg, is looking for an experienced Automotive Financial Controller / Administrator. The role combines day‑to‑day financial administration with oversight of dealership accounting processes, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily financial administration and support dealership accounting functions.
• Reconcile bank statements, creditor and debtor accounts, and assist with month‑end procedures.
• Process journals, invoices, payments and general ledger entries.
• Maintain accurate financial records, cashbook processing and banking functions.
• Support stock reconciliations and operational reporting.
• Liaise with auditors, suppliers and internal departments as required.
• Utilise the Automate/Evolve DMS for reporting and administration tasks.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in dealership financial administration or as a financial controller.
• Previous experience in a franchised motor dealership.
• Matric/Grade 12 qualification; a financial or accounting qualification is advantageous.
• Stable employment history with verifiable references.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Automate/Evolve dealership management system.
• Strong Excel skills and general computer literacy.
• Solid accounting and reconciliation abilities.
