Audit Specialist – Financial Statements & Assurance

About the role

PwC is seeking an Audit Specialist to join its Service Delivery Centre (SDC) Africa team. You will provide high‑quality assurance services, reviewing financial statements against IFRS and IFRS for SMEs, and supporting audit teams with complex engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Review financial statements in accordance with IFRS and IFRS for SMEs.
• Perform advanced audit procedures such as Agreed‑Upon Procedures (AUPs), rolling forward audit files, and detailed tests of controls.
• Assist in planning, execution, and review of group deliverables and manage audit documentation.
• Review work of junior staff, including control logs and test results.
• Monitor compliance with independence standards and training requirements.

Required profile

• Relevant professional qualification or progress toward CA(SA) (e.g., SAICA traineeship).
• 3‑4 years of experience in a professional services firm, preferably in audit.
• Strong understanding of IFRS, IFRS for SMEs, and audit methodology.
