Assembly Technician – Electrical Production

About the role

The Assembly / Adaptation Technician works on the shop‑floor to perform electrical assembly and adaptation tasks, ensuring products are built accurately, safely and to approved specifications. Reporting to the Production Lead, the role directly supports production output, on‑time delivery and product quality.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble, wire and fit electrical components and Ring Main Units according to drawings, schematics and bills of materials.
• Conduct first‑line inspections, record defects and support quality and HSE audits.
• Perform basic electrical testing, fault‑finding and rework activities, escalating issues when needed.
• Handle materials, safeguard tools and equipment, and maintain a clean, 5S‑compliant work area.
• Achieve daily and weekly production targets while adhering to safety and quality procedures.

Required profile

• Electrical Artisan, N4 or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• 2–5 years of experience in electrical assembly or production, preferably with switchgear or similar products.
• Strong attention to detail, disciplined work habits and a safety‑first mindset.

Required skills

• Electrical assembly and wiring.
• Basic electrical testing.
• Use of hand tools and basic power tools.
• Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and drawings.
• Understanding of Ring Main Units and enclosure assembly.
