Accounting Manager – Hermanus

About the role

Our client is looking for an Accounting Manager to join a dynamic team in Hermanus to start immediately.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage cash flow, budgets, and forecasts to support operational and strategic goals.
• Coordinate and review tax submissions (VAT, PAYE, Income Tax) and liaise with SARS.
• Supervise and mentor the accounting team to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting policies.
• Collaborate with auditors, banks, and other external stakeholders.
• Provide management with financial analysis and recommendations for business improvement.

Required profile

• SAIPA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as CaseWare, Xero, Sage, or Pastel.
• Strong working knowledge of SARS systems (eFiling, EasyFile).
• Experience preparing annual financial statements under IFRS for SMEs.
• Experience with management accounts and monthly payroll processing.
• Knowledge of SARS tax returns (EMP201, EMP501, ITR14, ITR12) and VAT submissions.
• Solid understanding of South African tax legislation and IFRS for SMEs.
• Practical experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
