Accountant – Logistics and Distribution

About the role

We are seeking a driven and detail‑oriented Accountant to join our finance team within a well‑established logistics and distribution organisation. You will provide operational financial support, ensuring accurate insights for route planning and business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with financial management and reporting of route profitability and cost analysis.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for logistics operations.
• Monitor and analyse transport and distribution costs per route.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and operational financial reports.
• Reconcile operational and financial data to ensure accuracy and integrity.
• Collaborate with operations teams to improve efficiency and cost control.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end reporting processes.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.

Required profile

• Completed SAICA, SAIPA, or CIMA articles.
• BCom Accounting, Financial Accounting, or equivalent qualification.
• 1–2 years post‑article experience (beneficial).
• Strong analytical and numerical ability with high attention to detail.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
