Accountant – Financial Reporting & Reconciliation

About the role

We are seeking a diligent Accountant to join our finance team in Germiston. The role involves managing day‑to‑day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records and supporting month‑end and year‑end processes.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
• Process creditors, debtors, accruals, and provision journals.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end closing procedures and support audit activities.
• Manage fixed asset register and insurance monthly journal entries.
• Prepare foreign exchange payments and ensure timely statutory submissions (SARS VAT/STATS).
• Monitor and resolve discrepancies in reconciliations and ensure timely payments.

Required profile

• Grade 12 with a tertiary qualification in Financial Accounting.
• 3–5 years of experience in an accountant role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations and tax laws.
• Proven ability to work accurately under tight deadlines.

Required skills

• SAGE Pastel Evolution.
