Service Technician – Mining Equipment

About the role

Normet is seeking a Service Technician to deliver services, repairs, commissioning and technical training on mining machines across Africa. The role is based in Jetpark, Johannesburg and forms part of the Normet Africa service team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform on‑site service, maintenance and repairs of mining equipment.
• Commission new machines and provide technical training to customers.
• Support aftermarket services, including troubleshooting and parts replacement.
• Collaborate with the global technical support team in Finland to improve existing and new products.
• Work closely with production, sales and other service engineers to ensure customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification with a trade certificate.
• Fluent in English and computer literate.
• Minimum three years of experience in surface or underground mining operations.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
