Service Contract Technician – Mechanical Maintenance

About the role
The Service Contract Technician provides technical support for mechanical maintenance of mining equipment. You will ensure machines operate reliably, safely and cost‑effectively in an underground mining environment.
Key responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and corrective actions on hydraulic, electrical, drivetrain and diesel systems.
- Conduct risk assessments, shift and incident reporting, and document outcomes and root causes.
- Follow standard operating procedures, quality and cleanliness standards (5S), and safety practices.
- Monitor key performance indicators and communicate operational status and deviations.
- Support planning, preparation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required profile
- Grade 12 / N3 technical qualification or equivalent (Section 13 Trade Certificate – Millwright, Diesel Mechanic or Electrician).
- Minimum 5 years of relevant mining experience, preferably underground.
- Medically fit, valid driver’s licence, own transport and personal tool set.
- Ability to work shifts and stay away from home for the duration of the shift.

- Experience with Sandvik LS 170, LS 190 and LS 312 equipment
