Senior Manager – HR Business Partner (4‑Month Temp)

About the role

EXL is looking for an experienced Senior Manager to act as an HR Business Partner on a four‑month temporary contract. You will work closely with business leaders in Cape Town, providing strategic HR guidance that aligns people initiatives with organisational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders to translate priorities into effective people strategies, covering workforce planning, organisational design, talent management and succession planning.
• Provide expert advice on employee relations, ensuring compliance with policies and labour legislation while supporting engagement initiatives.
• Monitor workforce trends, deliver data‑driven recommendations, and ensure adherence to HR governance, audit, and reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with HR Centres of Excellence (Talent Acquisition, L&D, Compensation & Benefits, Shared Services, Compliance) to deliver integrated solutions and seamless onboarding.
• Lead or support HR projects and transformation initiatives, driving continuous improvement in service delivery and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology or related field.
• 5‑10 years of HR experience, preferably in a business‑partnering environment.
• Proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior leaders and manage key stakeholder relationships.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and HR best practices.
