Senior Buyer

About the role

Our client, a nationally recognised South African property development group, is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to support its expanding operations in the Western Cape. You will be responsible for securing reliable supply sources, managing procurement processes, and ensuring cost‑effective purchasing while maintaining quality and delivery standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain supplier relationships to guarantee continuity of supply.
• Issue enquiries, evaluate quotations, and negotiate pricing, quality and performance.
• Place orders, monitor deliveries, and align supply with project schedules.
• Prepare monthly material forecasts and consolidate purchasing to maximise cost savings.
• Ensure purchased materials meet quality standards and comply with company policies.
• Review invoices, investigate discrepancies, and maintain accurate procurement records.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Management or related field.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience as a Buyer, preferably in construction or residential development.
• Strong procurement and supplier negotiation expertise.
• High attention to detail, strong organisational abilities, and excellent communication skills.
