Registered Nurse ICU Trained

About the role

The Registered Nurse will deliver safe, cost‑effective, high‑quality patient care in an intensive care setting, adhering to hospital standards and policies. You will be responsible for direct and indirect nursing care of individual patients or groups, ensuring comprehensive assessment, planning, execution, and supervision of care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide bedside nursing care to ICU patients, monitoring vital signs and responding to changes.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
• Supervise and mentor junior nursing staff and support personnel.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with health legislation.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold hospital safety standards.

Required profile

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse/Midwife.
• Relevant ICU qualification or at least two years of experience in intensive care nursing.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts and hours.
• Ability to implement and maintain standards set by accredited health bodies.
