Registered Nurse (Geregistreerde Verpleegkundige)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to join our residential care facility for older adults. The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality nursing care, manage medication processes and support the multidisciplinary team in a shift‑based environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to elderly residents, including assessment, monitoring and documentation.
• Administer medications using Central Dispensing Units (CDU) and blister packaging, ensuring accuracy and compliance with scheduled medication plans.
• Oversee the control and documentation of scheduled medication regimes.
• Lead and coordinate nursing staff, fostering effective teamwork and communication.
• Participate in shift work covering day, night, weekend and public holidays as required.

Required profile

• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Strong knowledge of medication handling, especially CDU and blister systems.
• Experience in physical and medical care of older persons.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and good interpersonal relations.
• Responsible, motivated and able to work collaboratively within a team.
• Willingness to work flexible shift patterns.
• Management licence is an advantage.
