Quality Engineer

About the role

The Quality Engineer will ensure that all products, materials and processes across the supply chain meet the company’s quality standards, regulatory requirements and customer expectations. Based in Jet Park, Boksburg, the role covers supplier inbound quality through to final dispatch and returns handling.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and verify inbound components, conduct supplier audits and approve or reject parts against specifications.
• Monitor production and warehouse processes, manage re‑work activities and prevent dispatch of non‑conforming items.
• Identify and mitigate quality risks in handling, storage and transport, maintain ISO 9001 compliance and enforce industry regulations.
• Perform final inspections, verify packaging, labeling and documentation, and determine product redistribution levels.
• Inspect returned goods, coordinate refurbishment, investigate complaints and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Master Data, Engineering and Warehouse teams on product changes, support inventory optimisation and promote quality awareness.
• Approve cosmetic supplier exemption requests, escalate ongoing issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented and monitored.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Quality Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of quality management experience in heavy industrial distribution.
• Strong analytical and leadership abilities, safety‑first mindset and customer‑oriented approach.
• Fluent English communication; additional local languages preferred.

Required skills

• Material quality management and supply chain ERP systems.
• Logistics principles and MS Office with project‑management focus.
• DMAIC methodology and Six Sigma (Yellow Belt or higher).
• Quality tools such as Ishikawa, SPC, 8D, CAR and QAP methods.
