Project Construction Manager – 12 month contract

About the role

The Project Construction Manager will lead a metallurgical plant construction project in Rustenburg for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. Reporting functionally to the Operations Engineer, the role carries full legal responsibility for delivering the project safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of the construction project from initiation through handover.
• Manage site contractors, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain detailed planning and scheduling documents.
• Control budgeting, cost tracking and financial reporting.
• Allocate and supervise resources, including labour, equipment and materials.
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks.
• Implement quality control procedures and ensure standards are met.
• Communicate with stakeholders, providing regular progress updates.
• Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation for project governance.
• Resolve technical and operational issues promptly.

Required profile

• Matriculation with Mathematics and Science.
• Trade qualification – Red Seal or Sect 24D with proof of completed modules.
• Construction Manager tertiary qualification (advantageous).
• Mechanical Engineer or GCC qualification (advantageous).
• Minimum 10 years experience as a Project Construction Manager, preferably in a metallurgical plant environment.
