Professional Nurse – ICU

About the role

Mediclinic is seeking a Professional Nurse specialised in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to join its multidisciplinary team. The role involves delivering safe, comprehensive, and high‑quality nursing care to critically ill patients while collaborating closely with doctors, allied health professionals, and support staff.

Key responsibilities

• Provide quality nursing care in partnership with a multi‑professional team.
• Identify, prevent and manage risks to ensure patient safety.
• Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions.
• Promote a learning environment that builds staff competence.
• Ensure all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged.

Required profile

• Essential education: Degree or Diploma in General Nursing.
• Desired education: Midwifery or postgraduate certificate/diploma in a relevant specialty.
• Essential experience: None required.
• Desired experience: Up to 1 year post‑graduate qualification experience in a specialised unit.
