Production Supervisor – Poultry

About the role

We are seeking a Production Supervisor to lead our poultry manufacturing operations in Johannesburg. The role involves overseeing daily production activities, ensuring safety and quality standards, and managing a motivated team to meet output targets.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate production activities.
• Ensure production meets quality, quantity, and safety standards.
• Supervise production workers, providing guidance and support.
• Schedule work, assign tasks, and monitor employee performance.
• Maintain quality controls to ensure consistency and safety of poultry products.
• Conduct regular inspections to prevent defects or contamination.
• Enforce health and safety regulations and maintain a safe work environment.
• Address and report safety concerns and incidents promptly.
• Monitor product inventory and ensure adequate stock levels.
• Coordinate stock replenishment as needed.
• Ensure production equipment is properly maintained and schedule repairs.
• Monitor production targets and performance metrics to achieve efficiency and meet goals.

Required profile

• Matric or equivalent qualification (advantageous).
• Proven work experience within the poultry industry.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
• Effective communication with staff and management.
• Problem‑solving ability to address production challenges.
• Team management and conflict‑resolution skills.
• Customer‑focus to meet product quality and delivery expectations.
• Experience with variance management, wastage control, expense monitoring, external audits, and GP vs targets.
