Production Clerk – Cape Town

About the role

The Production Clerk will join a manufacturing team in Cape Town, responsible for capturing, analysing and reporting daily production data. This role underpins operational efficiency, helps meet production targets and drives continuous‑improvement initiatives within a fast‑paced factory environment.

Key responsibilities

• Capture and maintain daily production data by product, machine, department and individual, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Verify, reconcile and resolve any discrepancies in production information before reporting.
• Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly and monthly production reports covering targets, productivity, wastage, scrap, rework, machine downtime and breakdown trends.
• Analyse production trends, identify areas of under‑performance and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
• Maintain production databases, spreadsheets and reporting tools, keeping them up‑to‑date.
• Conduct regular stock counts of raw materials and consumables, investigate variances and keep precise inventory records.
• Assist supervisors, team leaders and the maintenance team with KPI monitoring and process‑improvement projects.
• Support quality, health and safety compliance, including documentation of non‑conformances, corrective actions and environmental readings.
• Help with skills assessments, training administration and maintain accurate training records.

Required profile

• Matric / Grade 12 qualification.
• Minimum 5 years experience in a production, factory, manufacturing or assembly‑line environment.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent numerical and analytical abilities.
• Ability to multitask, work under pressure and communicate effectively with team members.
• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively.
