Maintenance Technician – Plastics Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join a leading plastics manufacturing plant in Springs. The role focuses on maintaining injection moulding equipment and supporting ancillary systems to ensure continuous, efficient production.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on injection moulding machines.
• Maintain ancillary equipment such as dryers, hopper loaders, conveyors, cooling towers, chillers and other process support assets.
• Diagnose and repair breakdowns on machines and related hydraulic/electrical systems.
• Oversee mould maintenance, vehicle upkeep, forklift servicing and basic building facilities.
• Keep accurate maintenance records and minimise downtime.
• Coordinate maintenance schedules with production teams and adhere to health, safety and environmental regulations.

Required profile

• 3–5 years’ experience in a plastics manufacturing environment (injection, blow moulding or film blowing).
• Proven mechanical and fault‑finding abilities.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of maintenance tasks.
• Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
