Junior Maintenance Technician

About the role

Our client is looking for a motivated Junior Maintenance Technician to join their maintenance team in Germiston, Gauteng. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience with both mechanical and electrical equipment in an industrial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Receive tasks and complete them under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Install new mechanical and electrical equipment safely and efficiently.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and production stoppages.
• Carry out inspections and preventative maintenance on plant machinery.
• Obtain and follow correct process instructions for each job.
• Ensure set‑ups minimise production interruptions.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safe working practices.
• Perform shift, overtime and standby duties as required.

Required profile

• Millwright trade test qualification with little or no post‑qualification experience.
• Electrical, Millwright or Mechatronics qualification.
• Relevant experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Basic knowledge of PLC and HMI systems.
