Junior Electrical Apprentice – Entry Level

About the role

This entry‑level apprenticeship offers a recent Electrical Engineering graduate the chance to gain hands‑on experience alongside seasoned technicians. You will develop practical electrical, maintenance and fault‑finding skills while supporting service and installation projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist experienced technicians with servicing, maintenance, installations and repairs.
• Accompany technicians to customer premises and job sites.
• Support basic electrical fault finding, troubleshooting and equipment testing.
• Prepare tools, equipment, components and materials for service calls.
• Help with preventative maintenance and routine equipment servicing.
• Learn to interpret technical manuals, schematics and manufacturer guidelines.
• Assist with removing, replacing and installing faulty components.
• Maintain clean, organised and safe working areas.
• Participate in practical training, learning activities and assessments.

Required profile

• N6 or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (recently qualified).
• Limited or no formal work experience.
• Strong interest in electrical, technical and maintenance work.
• Reliable, hardworking and able to follow technical instructions.
• Good communication skills and a professional attitude.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a technical team.
• Valid driver’s licence advantageous but not essential.
