HR Administrator / HR Generalist

About the role

Alpha is looking for a passionate HR professional to join as an HR Administrator/Generalist. The role provides comprehensive HR support across employee relations, recruitment, administration, performance management and compliance, working closely with line managers to enhance people practices and ensure a positive employee experience.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations enquiries and advise managers on disciplinary procedures.
• Draft, review and manage disciplinary documentation, conduct investigations, resolve conflicts and oversee terminations.
• Maintain accurate employee records and coordinate onboarding, contracts, leave management and off‑boarding processes.
• Administer employee benefits and ensure compliance with South African labour legislation (BCEA, LRA, EEAP).
• Support performance management and employee engagement initiatives, providing HR guidance to line managers.
• Analyse HR trends, contribute to workforce planning and promote a positive workplace culture to improve retention.
• Assist with induction, training programmes and identification of development needs.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Human Resources or a related field.
• 2‑3 years of experience in an HR Generalist role.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation.
• Valid driver’s licence and access to a personal vehicle.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with HR information systems.
