Housekeeper – Room Attendant

About the role

The Room Attendant at Pepperclub Hotel ensures guest rooms and public areas are presented to the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort. This position is essential to delivering the luxury experience expected by guests of a five‑star property in Cape Town.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and prepare guest rooms, suites and public areas according to hotel standards.
• Change linens, replace towels and restock amenities, ensuring quality presentation.
• Perform visual inspections for maintenance issues, damages or missing items and report them promptly.
• Follow hygiene and sanitation procedures for bathrooms, surfaces, floors and furniture using approved chemicals.
• Greet guests politely, assist with basic requests while maintaining discretion.
• Collaborate with fellow housekeepers, public area attendants and laundry staff to meet daily targets.
• Maintain cleaning equipment in good condition and keep storage areas organized.
• Adhere to health, safety and environmental regulations, including proper handling of lost and found items.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of housekeeping experience in a 4‑ or 5‑star hotel or similar environment.
• Reliable, organised and able to meet performance targets.
• Physically fit to perform repetitive cleaning tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation.
• Excellent time‑management and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, evenings and public holidays.
• Professional appearance and positive attitude.

Required skills

• Knowledge of cleaning standards, chemical safety and hygiene protocols.
