Grade 4 Teacher

About the role

ADvTECH is seeking a dedicated Grade 4 Teacher to join its network of private schools in South Africa. The role involves delivering future‑focused education, inspiring learners and supporting their progression toward mastery across the IEB, Cambridge or IB curricula.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, challenging lessons that motivate Grade 4 students.
• Plan, teach and assess curriculum content in line with school standards.
• Manage student behaviour and ensure a safe, inclusive classroom environment.
• Prepare and communicate academic reports to parents and school leadership.
• Participate in school brand ambassadorship, administrative duties and health‑and‑safety practices.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree (NQF level 6) with PGCE or B.Ed (Intermediate, Intersen or Senior Phase).
• SACE certification and a current police clearance.
• 2–5 years of teaching experience, preferably at primary level.
• Strong interpersonal skills, high emotional intelligence and professional presentation.
• Commitment to lifelong learning and staying abreast of global education trends.

Required skills

• Computer and digital literacy.
• First Aid certification.
